Tomas Jansson – New President of the Swedish Antiquarian Booksellers’ Associaton (SVAF)

At the annual meeting the Swedish Antiquarian Booksellers' Association (Svenska Antikvariatföreningen, SVAF) elected a new president and a new committee. New SVAF President is Tomas Jansson of Carolina Böcker and Konst. The antiquarian bookshop, located in Uppsala and founded in 1993, is specialized on medicine and medical history, Russian and Russian literature, but also has a large general stock.

At the annual meeting the Swedish Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association (Svenska Antikvariatföreningen, SVAF) elected a new president and a new committee.

New SVAF President is Tomas Jansson of Carolina Böcker and Konst. The antiquarian bookshop, located in Uppsala and founded in 1993, is specialized on medicine and medical history, Russian and Russian literature, but also has a large general stock. Charlotte du Rietz (Stockholm), well-known specialist in rare travel books with an emphasis on Asia and Africa, serves as Vice President.

The Swedish Antiquarian Booksellers‘ Association belongs to the oldest organizations of the rare book trade. Founded in 1936, the SVAF was one of the founding members of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB). Together with the other trade associations in Scandinavia, the SVAF runs the online database www.antikvariat.net and organizes an annual international book fair which is alternately held in different Scandinavian countries and cities.
