Hosea Baskin

"I was born in Northhampton, Massachussetts, to a couple of hard core book collectors"

Born into a family of book collectors and private press owners Hosea Baskin went to school in Great Britain and graduated at Yale in 1993. During the mid 1990s, when he worked for Sotheby's in London, he began to built up his own collection. After his return to the United States he founded Cumberland Rare Books. Hosea Baskin specializes in printed books and manuscripts from 1500 to 1700. Special interest lies in the Renaissance, Reformation, Classics, Humanism, and illustrated books. His advice:

"Never buy a book you have to apologize for."
