ANZAAB Conference - Dunkeld, 19th and 20th March 2012
Members of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Antiquarian Booksellers had a wonderful time at Dunkeld, a Victorian town nestled at the foot of the Grampians, right at the end of the Great Dividing Range. The very interesting program included discussions and lectures on “Frauds and Sophistications - Criminal Behaviour or Harmless Improvements?”, “Social Media” and “Presentation, Packing and Freight - Tips from a Master” held by Sally Burdon, Jennifer Jaeger, Paul Feain and Michael Treloar. The participants followed an inspirational lecture via Skype from the Lilly Library in Indiana by Adjunct Associate Professor Joel Silver on “My Favourite Reference Books”.
Jörn Harbeck led a discussion on “Who do we think we are – Who do they think we are?”, while Douglas Stewart, Barbara Hince and Paul Feain discussed a question vital to all ILAB booksellers: “Is it Worth Exhibiting Overseas?”
The educational and motivational aspects of the Conference were lightened by some bird watching, a special visit to the beautiful property of Allan and Maria Myers, and an invitation by Roz Greenwood and Marg Phillips to a marvellous Bellicourt Farm Barbecue.
