Muir Books [Robert Muir Old & Rare Books] was established in 1974 by Robert and Helen Muir. It is now owned and operated by Janet Muir* and Rob Muir. Tara Surry is researcher and cataloguer at the bookshop. The shop is located in Perth (Northbridge) Western Australia in the Arts and Museum district and specializes in Australiana, Antarctica, exploration, travel, voyages, maps, photography and other interesting items and objects, with some 50,000 books in a beautifully restored late 19th century horse-stable close to the Capital City of Perth (Western Australia). Robert Muir Old & Rare Books buy and sell books, maps, prints, photographs, manuscripts and diaries. They offer a free search service and provide valuations for the purpose of disposal, insurance, probate and family division.

* Janet Muir joined the second generation family business in 1987 and is an approved Australian Commonwealth Government Valuer and past Vice-President of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Antiquarian Booksellers (ANZAAB).
