Muir Books [Robert Muir Old & Rare Books]

Robert Muir Old & Rare Books (also known as muirbooks), established in 1974 by Robert Muir, is owned and operated by Rob Muir and Janet Muir, together with their researcher and cataloguer, Tara Surry. The bookshop is located in Perth (Northbridge), Western Australia and specializes in Australiana, Antarctica, exploration, travel and voyages, and military history (in particular World War I), with some 50,000 books in a beautifully restored late 19th century horse-stable close to the Capital City of Perth (Western Australia). Robert Muir Old & Rare Books buy and sell books, maps, prints, photographs, manuscripts and diaries. They offer a free search service and provide valuations for the purpose of disposal, insurance, probate and family division.

* Janet Muir joined the business in 1987 and is an approved Australian Commonwealth Government Valuer for the Cultural Gifts and Cultural Bequests Programs as well as the Philanthropy Program. Janet currently holds the position of Vice-President of ANZAAB (Australian and New Zealand Association of Antiquarian Booksellers).
