Emblem books, 2nd edition

In this catalogue you will find about 80 emblem books, mostly printed in the Low Countries between 1565 and 1758, being the golden age of this genre. Also some of the founding 16th century Emblematists can be found in their Latin editions. This collection originates, apart from very few additions, from one source, and was collected over some decennia. The collector had a keen eye for quality, which is reflected in the general fine copies offered here for sale now.
