Herman H.J. Lynge & Søn blev grundlagt i 1821 og er dermed Skandinaviens ældste aktive antikvariat tillige med det første videnskabelige. I 1974 købte Marias far, Max Girsel, firmaet og fortsatte dets stærke videnskabelige tradition. Maria har arbejdet i antikvariatet siden 2000, fuld tid siden 2003. I løbet af det seneste halve århundrede, har antikvariatet fokuseret stærkere på specifikke emner såsom matematik, fysik og teknologi samt økonomisk, politik og filosofisk tænkning, som også udgør Marias primære områder.

Herman H.J. Lynge & Søn is specialized in rare and important works within the history of ideas, with a main focus on science, philosophy, politics, and economics, of all periods – from the 14th till the 20th century.

Founded in 1821, Herman H.J. Lynge & Søn is the oldest antiquarian book shop in Scandinavia and the first scientific one. In 1974, Maria’s father, Max Girsel, bought the company, continuing its strong scientific tradition. Maria joined the company in 2000 and has worked there full time since 2003. Throughout the last half century, the company has developed a stronger focus on specific areas such as mathematics, physics and technology as well as economical, political and philosophical thought, which also constitutes Maria’s main focus. I would be happy to mentor in the Scandinavian languages (i.e. Danish, Swedish, Norwegian) as well as English and German.
