Join us for a CABS-Minnesota Antiquarian Book Seminar - Online Q&A Session

23 March 2026 - via Zoom - 13.00 New York / 17.00 London time
CABS Minnesota 2

Does training exist for antiquarian booksellers?
Do you spend most of your working day on your own and wonder what it might be like to learn alongside fellow booksellers? Would an extended network help you in your work?
Are you curious how others entered the trade, developed their skills, and run a successful bookselling business?

ILAB is pleased to host an online Q&A session with faculty members and recent participants from the CABS-Minnesota Antiquarian Book Seminar. This informal meet-and-greet offers booksellers the opportunity to learn more about this highly regarded training programme and to ask questions directly of those involved.

The session will feature faculty members Maria Lin (Rulon-Miller Books) and Garrett Scott, joined by Josh Knight (CABS alumnus and bookseller in Manchester), in conversation with Liam McGahern (Patrick McGahern Books, Ontario and ILAB Education Coordinator).

The annual CABS-Minnesota seminar provides an important opportunity for early-career booksellers to learn from experienced professionals who generously share their expertise and knowledge of the rare book market. The seminar comprises several days of lectures, workshops, and discussions with guest speakers from the bookselling and library communities, carefully selected by the CABS-Minnesota board.
Over its long history, the seminar has proven an invaluable educational platform for thousands of booksellers. Enrolment is typically limited to around 50 students per year.

Both newcomers to the trade and more experienced booksellers interested in refining their skills are warmly encouraged to attend this information session.
