Michael Vinson Americana

I have had my own rare book firm, specializing in Texas and the West, for over 20 years. I have an A.M. from the University of Chicago in the History of the Book, and a Master's from the Divinity School of the University of Cambridge. My first job was at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where I was an assistant to the Curator for the Texana and Western Americana Collections. I started my firm in Austin, and have been priviledged to work closely with great mentors such as Michael Heaston Rare Books. I have appraised the Texana Collection of Senator Ralph W. Yarborough for the University of Texas at Austin, and have worked closely with many of the leading collectors and institutions in Texas and around the country. I am a member of the Chancellor's Council of the University of Texas, and a Life Member of the Friends of the University of Texas at Arlington Library. In 2012 I moved my business to downtown Salt Lake City in Utah.
