We all send each other cards for Christmas, New Year or just for fun. But who knew that this was a tradition that started in the seventeenth century? As of the 17th century, it was possible to buy printed sheets with a decorative border and blank space to write a message by hand. Usually, the decorative edge is an allegorical print, a frame with flowers, or city views. These prints are also called 'kransen' (garlands,
