The Salon International du Livre rare & de lâAutographe in Paris on UNESCO World Book and Copyright Day, 23 April 2015!
An affiliate of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB), the Syndicat national de la Librairie Ancienne et Moderne (SLAM), along with ILAB, will participate in the worldwide celebrations on UNESCO World Book and Copyright Day created in 1995 and taking place on 23 April each year.
As the opening of the Salon International du Livre rare & de l’Autographe is held on this symbolic day, SLAM is organising a fundraiser in cooperation with ILAB to support the UNESCO literacy projects in South Sudan.
The 20.000 visitors, collectors, researchers and booksellers on the Book Fair will be given the opportunity to contribute to this large-scale project during a major cultural event. Who better than the thousands of booklovers gathered under the Grand Palais glass roof on 23 April could to support this important initiative? Promoting literacy and reading is a fundamental challenge.
