This Fair has become one of the most important bibliophilic events in France. From incunabula to modern first editions, thousands of books will be there waiting to be discovered, and with the new August dates, a numerous and informed public is expected.The beauty of the venue, the celebrated provençal gastronomy, the warmth of the sun as summer draws to a close. This and much more should seduce all connoisseurs of fine books and the pleasures of life.

Visitors will find beautiful books, manuscripts and prints at three different places in Lourmarin: on the esplanade, visitors may stroll around in the sun and admire a huge of amount books on display by librarians and booksellers; in the courtyard, covered space is provided for booksellers, librarians, bookbinders and artists; in the castle, a hall is reserved for expert dealers showing rare and fine books from all centuries - all members of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB). It is the first time in the history of the fair that it takes place under the auspices of ILAB and supported by the Syndicat National de la Librairie Ancienne et Moderne (SLAM). ILAB President Norbert Donhofer and SLAM President Anne Lamort are among the exhibitors.

And Lourmarin offers much more: book artists, restorers, paper makers, leather manufacturers, leather gilders, and art bookbinders like Monique Mathieu, Jean Luc Honegger and Nobuko Kiyomiya whose works will be exhibited at the fair.

Don't miss this unique event in Lourmarin! One of the most beautiful villages in France with its outstanding Provençal market and final resting place of Albert Camus and Henri Bosco. Nearby is the Marquis de Sade’s castle at Lacoste, René Char's "Maison" at Ile-sur-la Sorgue, the Abbaye de Sénanque, Gordes, and many other amazing sites.

The 10th Antiquarian Book Fair in Lourmarin will feature an important exhibition dedicated to René Char, with some 150 examples of his work bound by twenty-five well-known book-binders of the past and present: from Rose Adler to Philippe Fié, Paul Bonet, Pierre-Lucien Martin, Henri Mercher, Jean de Gonet, Renaud Vernier. The exhibition will be held in a large room at the heart of the Fair.
