Due to COVID19, the 2021 physical Stuttgart Rare Book Fair was cancelled.
However, the organisers are currently preparing a special edition printed catalogue and a virtual fair which will open on 29 January 2021.
As of September 2020, over 50 German and international booksellers, affiliated to ILAB, have already signed up for the virtual fair.
More information will be published soon.
Germany's leading annual rare book fair brings together each year local and international booksellers. Established in 1962, the fair is one of the oldest in Europe and reflects Germany's history and tradition in printing, publishing and bookselling. Usually taking place in Stuttgart's city centre, the fair takes pride to be one of the region's longstanding cultural events.
After 60 years, Stuttgart in January is still the meeting place for all book lovers, collectors and the international antiquarian book trade, in 2021 taking place in a virtual format.
"Come here you folks! take your pick! there are many a one!"
The history of the Stuttgart Rare Book Fair was written down in 2016 and can be read here.
