British Library Lecture: Alberto Manguel: The Library at Night and Other Stories

Join Alberto Manguel, acclaimed author of The Library at Night and A History of Reading, and currently following in Borges's footsteps as Director of the National Library of Argentina, in conversation with Claire Armitstead of The Guardian. Alberto Manguel is an Argentinian-born Canadian essayist and novelist. He has written twenty works of criticism; edited more than twenty literary anthologies; and is the author of five novels, including News from a Foreign Country Came, which won the McKitterick Prize in 1992. An Officier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (France), he has also been awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship. In December 2015 he was named Director of the National Library in his native Argentina.
