Missale Nidrosiense 500 yearsPublished on 27 Mai 2019
On May 25 2019 it is exactly 500 years since the Missale Nidrosiense left the printing press in Copenhagen. It was made for the Archdiocese of Trondheim (Nidaros) which then included all of Norway, Iceland, Greenland, a number of Islands in the North sea and parts of what is today Sweden. The Missale, being printed specifically for Norway, is considered the country’s earliest printed book.
Antikvariat Mats Rehnström are proud to present a copy of this rare and historical book.
A richly illustrated pdf-catalogue with detailed description in Swedish is available. A short summary in English follows below, a more detailed translation of our description can be provided if needed.
The book is bound in a splendid but slightly worn calf binding from the first half of the 18th century with morocco title label, Danish king Christian VI’s gilt monogram in the top compartment of the spine, the gilt coat-of-arms of Denmark in the other compartments. It has also belonged to the famous liturgical collection of Charles Louis de Bourbon Duke of Parma. The book lacks two leaves that have been replaced with well made facsimiles.

New catalogue New York bookfair 2019Published on 26 Fév. 2019
This year we are particularly proud of our catalogue because of its
diversity and the rarity of the material offered.
Therefore it might be worth your time to take a peek in our catalogue
and see if you can find something that you might like. The
catalogue is divided in simple sections: Manuscripts up to 1600,
1600-1800, present day, followed by Printed Books of 15th till 20th
century. There are two final sections covering voyages & exploration
and maps, photographs and prints.
I would add as well we are bringing considerable material to the NYC
Fair that is not in our catalogue (latest acquisitions etc.) so we
look forward to see
you at Booth A16.
Some highlights include, no 1, the Book of Hours, no 34, The Pawky
Pawk's Book of Beasts, no 55, A monumental
Portuguese work on the Persian Gulf and the exploration of the Far
