Tokyo, World Antiquarian Book Plaza - How to support literacy on UNESCO World Book and Copyright Day: in Japanese!

Remember: At the ILAB Pop Up Book Fairs on UNESCO World Book and Copyright Day a donation of 3 US $ will send one book to a child in South Sudan, 15 US $ purchase a set of 12 school books for a classroom, and 500 US $ provide 45 school book collections for a rural community in Africa. Support UNESCO's work by filling the "empty bookcase" with symbolic books which will be turned into real books for schools in Africa! The ABAJ blog and these pictures show - in Japanese - how to fill the bookcases and to donate money to the UNESCO project in South Sudan:

The ABA and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers

The ABA and ILAB look back at a long history. The ABA is relaunching its flagship fair in London this year, the oldest antiquarian book fair in the world, under the auspices of ILAB.

Poul Jan Poulsen, Honorary Member of the Danish Antiquarian Booksellers Association (ABF)

Congratuliations! For his outstanding efforts and commitment to the antiquarian book trade, Poul Jan Poulsen - ILAB Treasurer for more than two decades - has been elected honorary member of the Danish Antiquarian Booksellers Association (ABF), as the only still active bookseller ever, and as the third in the entire history of ABF, which was founded in 1920. During the 90 years that ABF has been in existence, Poul has done more for the association than any other member. For many, many years, he has formed the back-bone of ABF, which would hardly be imaginable without him.

For the first time ever - International Antiquarian Book Fair in Hungary

The Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of Hungary is proud to welcome the th 26th ILAB International Antiquarian Book Fair in Budapest. In Hungary, this is the first time that antiquarian booksellers will have the opportunity to present their rare books, manuscripts and other documents at such a large-scale exhibition. It is not only a local initiation, as the Fair accompanies the 42th ILAB Congress which is to host booksellers from across the world. With great pride and joy, I now wish to share the excellent news with you all that so far the following 26 exhibitors have already registered:
