King Ludwig II. gave gracious gifts to The Bavarian State Library, among them unique manuscripts, precious bindings, and extraordinarily rare musical autographs. The oldest item is a 11th century Greek Gospel, which came to Bavaria through King Otto I. of Greece and was handed to the Library by the King Ludwig. Besides these presents the Bavarian State Library owns numerous historical resources about the life and time of King Ludwig - books, autographs, prints, manuscripts, private estates of politicians, artists and scientists from the King’s circle. All these are shown in the exhibition in the State Library’s Treasury.
