208 lots, including illustrated books, literature, natural history, polar exploration, Indigenous Australia and Papua New Guinea, Australiana, maps, photographs, and autograph material. Key lots include: Lot 102: The deluxe large-paper edition of Shackleton's The Heart of the Antarctic (1909, one of only 300 sets), complete with the third volume, The Antarctic Book, signed by 16 members of the expedition. Lot 100: Richard Walter Richards's signed copy of Shackleton's South (1919), the account of his Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition, 1914-17. For his heroism on this expedition, Richards was awarded the Albert Medal (later converted to the George Cross. Lots 2-4: George French Angas' major colour-plate books (The Kafirs Illustrated, The New Zealanders Illustrated, and South Australia Illustrated).
