European Film Gateway - The Age of Hungarian Silent Film

decoration04 Aug. 2011|25 Sept. 2011

It is a characteristic of the history of silent film that a significant number of the works were lost or destroyed. That's why historical documents like scripts, newspaper articles, reports, reviews, photographs of stars, posters, and above all, such behind-the-scenes documents as production stills or location photos are so important for the cineastic history and for collectors. This exhibition presents an exclusive selection from films, photographs and posters made during the era of silent films which are today owned by the Hungarian National Film Archive.
