Encountering Revolution: Print Culture, Politics, and the British American Loyalists

decoration13 June 2011|17 June 2011

The American Antiquarian Society (AAS) is a research library founded in 1812 to document the life in America from the colonial era through the Civil War and Reconstruction. The 2011 Summer Seminar in the History of the Book in American Culture will be held by Philip Gould (Professor of English, Brown University) and Ed Larkin (Associate Professor of English, University of Delaware). The seminar will interrogate the "Americanness" of American political writing to articulate continuities between British and British American writing and printing.
