We are excited to announce we will be exhibiting at the London International Antiquarian Book Fair at Olympia from 9 – 11 June. Our New Acquisitions list for this month is The London List, which we have prepared for the fair.
We are bringing to London an exceptional array of important Australiana including a fine set of Cook’s complete voyages (1773 – 85), the collected voyages of Dampier (1729), and a remarkable eighteenth century manuscript album of 234 watercolours depicting peoples of the world (including Australian Aborigines) and fauna from all continents.
This is complemented by exceptional works of British art and literature, including a fine signed etching by Francis Bacon (1979), Henry Moore’s first artist’s book Promethee (1950), first editions of Winnie-the-Pooh (1926) and other A. A. Milne classics. Historical photographs, broadsides and ephemera are also featured.

A collection of material relating to eighteenth-century Australia, including many of the foundation works of discovery and settlement. The centrepiece of the catalogue is Daniel Gardner's portrait in oils of Edward Riou, hero of the wreck of the Guardian, painted before he sailed as a midshipman on Cook's third voyage; there is also Fabricius' 1775 work on entomology, the first work to study the insects collected by Banks and Solander on the Endeavour voyage; fine copies of the major First Fleet publications, including a set of Governor Phillip and Surgeon White's accounts bound for Viscount Courtenay; the first scientific description of a platypus by Everard Home; beautiful sets of both the French and English editions of the La Pérouse voyage; and a marvellous copy of Thomas Jefferys' American Atlas, the most comprehensive survey of the American colonies at the beginning of the Revolution and which includes several charts based on the work of James Cook.[...] Read more

We are pleased to announce the publication of our latest catalog, number 96. The books will be exhibited in the XII Salón del Libro Antiguo from the 25th to the 28th November, in Hotel Miguel Ángel (C/ Miguel Ángel 29-31 - Madrid).
The bookfair will pen its doors on Thursday the 25th at 18 pm. We invite you to visit us in stand number 38 on Thursday 26th from 18 pm to 21 pm, Friday 26th and Saturday 27th from 11 am to 21 pm, and Sunday 28th from 11am to 15pm.
